Carer Support Elmbridge is a charity supporting unpaid carers, who may care for a relative, friend or neighbour. It is completely independent of the statutory agencies.
There are three Carer Support & Advocacy Workers. They are able to offer advocacy, general information, help in obtaining services, home visits, support groups, a listening ear and training opportunities.
Our three Carer Support & Advocacy Workers are Yvonne Clarke, Liz Hopkins and our Parent Carer Support Worker – Anne Hubble.
CSE are hosting another stall at this year’s Molesey Carnival to fundraise and increase awareness about the important work that we do. We are currently looking for donations of bottles (these could contain alcohol, shampoo, pasta or spirits!) to pop on our tombola stall. If you have anything you’d like to donate, please contact the office on 0203 757 7230 or email@example.com.
The next edition of the CSE Newsletter is now available – CSE – Newsletter Spring 2016
Please note there is an error in the printed edition regarding the walking groups, the next date will be Wednesday 13th April not the 14th. Apologies for any confusion.
State of Caring Survey 2016
Carers UK have recently published their ‘State of Caring Survey 2016’, this is designed to help show the reality of what it means to care for a family member or friend in 2016. The survey will be asking carers what life is like now and what needs to change. If you have time to complete this survey, please click here.
Exciting project coming up!
Carer Support Elmbridge are working with Richmond Carers and Hampton Court Palace on a project for this summer! What could it be? Keep checking back to see!
CSE at Squires
Squires Hersham have kindly chosen CSE as their charity of the year. Throughout the Christmas period, volunteers manned the grotto to help fundraise for CSE. We are very to say, we managed to raise £915!
New to caring? Need advice on the maze of benefits?
Carers UK have recently launched ‘Upfront’ – the first online carer’s guide for people who are new to caring and need some help navigating the maze of support and information that’s out there. Carers UK have found that half of the people caring for someone 35 hours a week or more had not had a Carer’s Assessment from their local authority. For more information please click here.
You could get Carer’s Credit if you’re caring for someone for at least 20 hours a week. Carer’s Credit is a National Insurance Credit that helps with gaps in your National Insurance Record. Your state pension is based on your national insurance record. For more information please click here.
