Boat Trip 13 July 2011
Well the weather could have been kinder to us, but at least the rain held off. We boarded our coach and Ron, our very friendly coach driver, asked us all if we had our passports with us! After the initial pause - is he joking or not - we giggled and our journey started. We arrived at Runnymede Boathouse and boarded our boat for our trip. The Captain of the Boat gave us a running commentary and at least 3 Kingfisher birds were spotted as we meandered our way along the River Thames plus swans with their cygnets. It was a very peaceful, pleasant way to pass 1 hour with friends. We arrived back to our start off point and went off to have a bite to eat, regrouping again at 2.30 pm to board the coach as Ron had offered to drive us up the hill to the RAF memorial site where we spent time reflecting and most of us walked up to the top of the tower (knees and legs protesting in the ascent) but the view was magnificent. Ron was on hand to point out Windsor Castle and runway 5 of Heathrow airport. A wonderful day out and we hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
